6 Valentine's Gifts For Men

Lee - The Fabric Fox on 5th Feb 2018

I'm notoriously difficult to buy gifts for on Valentine's Day. There's only so many watches, hip flasks and craft beers you can buy a guy. Well why not surprise him with something different and make him his Valentine's present instead?

Here are 6 things I would be thrilled to get this Valentine's Day!

Apron

I'm no stranger to the kitchen. We all appreciate a practical apron but it's hard to find one that's not sporting flowers so if you decide to make on of these go for dark colours with bold, geometric motifs.

Oven Gloves

Your hubby will struggle to get that Valentine's Day dinner out of the oven without a sturdy, stylish pair of oven gloves. You could pair them with the apron and gift him with a matching set that will really crown him king of the kitchen.

Tie/Bow Tie

Or if you're going to go out for a Valentine's Day meal your boyfriend is going to need an awesome tie to wear. The best thing about a tie is how they can be worn for multiple events, so go for a neutral colour that can be used to tie his other suits together.

Lanyard

Sometimes I lose my keys in a pair of jeans, only to find them later on in the laundry pile. What I need is one of these - a key lanyard. If you sew him one make sure to use his favourite colours and he'll be over the moon!

Coaster

You can never have enough coasters. There's always somewhere to put a pint glass. Make sure your furniture doesn't get scarred with rings and make your man a few of these. Throw 'em about the house and let that be one less thing to worry about.

Tray

Men love a man drawer. Believe it or not we accumulate a lot of junk; coins, paperclips, cinema tickets - whether it's a keepsake or something "that will come in handy" we need somewhere to dump it all. Make a fabric tray for the bedside table and you don't have to worry about losing more space to unsightly trinkets.

And if none of those aren't his cup of tea why not make him a wallet, sofa pocket cushion (for his phone and remote) or matching pyjamas? Check out our Sewing Gifts For Men Pinterest board to find out how.
