Pre-Order Fabric Guide: How to Buy Up-And-Coming Fabric Before Anyone Else

The Fabric Fox on 16th Jul 2016

Pre-ordering fabric is the best way to buy new fabrics before they are available on shop shelves. When you pre-order fabric, it is reserved for you so that when the fabric is in-stock it is immediately posted out to you. There are many benefits to pre-ordering fabric but there are some important specifics to take into consideration also.

Where to Find Pre-Order Fabric

Fabrics that are available to pre-order can be found on our Pre-Order fabric page. We update the Pre-Order fabric page with up-and-coming fabric once our distributors give us an estimated arrival date. It is a great page to visit regularly to see what quilting fabric we have coming soon, so you can always stay ahead of the curve!

It's worth noting, however, that sometimes we won't have any fabrics available to pre-order.

How to Buy Pre-Order Fabric

Buying pre-order fabric is no different than buying any other fabric. When you find a fabric on our Pre-Order fabric page, add it to your Cart as you would with any other fabric and checkout as usual. The only difference is the fabric is reserved for you instead of being immediately posted out to you - rest assured though, once we receive the fabric from our distributors we will package it up and send it to you.

How Long Will I Have to Wait for My Fabric?

Every fabric available for pre-order will have an expected release date. The ETA can be found above the Pre-Order Agreement checkbox as well as in the product description.

What Is the Pre-Order Agreement?

The Pre-Order Agreement is there to inform you that if you purchase in-stock fabric and pre-order fabric in a single transaction you will not receive the in-stock fabric until the pre-order fabric arrives. If you would like the in-stock fabric to be posted straight away please place a separate order for these fabrics.

The Pre-Order Agreement also informs you that the expected release dates are only estimations provided by the distributor. We cannot be held responsible for delays or cancellations.

Before you can add a pre-order fabric to your Cart you will need to tick the Pre-Order Agreement checkbox.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

I Bought In-Stock Fabric and Pre-Order Fabric in the Same Transaction. How Come the In-Stock Fabric Hasn’t Arrived Yet?

As part of the Pre-Order Agreement, if a pre-order contains fabrics that are already available to buy, they will be reserved and posted to you once the pre-order fabrics have arrived. As you must tick the Pre-Order Agreement checkbox to place a pre-order, it is assumed that you are happy to wait.

If you would like to receive your in-stock fabric straight away, please make sure to order it in a separate transaction.

I Accidentally Added In-Stock Fabric to My Pre-Order. Can You Split the Order and Post the Available Fabric Out to Me?

Yes, we can split the order for you. Please contact us to inform us which fabrics you would like posted.

If you would like the fabrics posted 1st Class, additional postage fees will be applied.

I Bought Several Pre-Order Fabrics but They Have a Variety of Expected Release Dates. When Will I Receive My Fabric?

We will try our best to post the fabrics as soon as they arrive to us. In this instance, you should expect multiple parcels as we reach each ETA for the fabrics you have pre-ordered. However, as expected release dates are estimations provided by the distributor, they can change at any moment.

Sometimes more than one collection will arrive, affording us with the opportunity to post more fabrics out than expected. Alternatively, if two different collections are expected to arrive within a week of each other, we may decide to wait until we have received both before shipping the fabric out to you.

I Changed My Mind. Can I Get a Refund?

Yes, as long as we haven't cut the fabric to the order specifications you can request a refund. As cuts of fabric are considered personalised items, we may be unable to refund orders that have been partially completed.

We like to handle refunds on a case-by-case basis, so please contact us if you require a refund.

What Happens if the Fabric Is Delayed or Cancelled?

If the fabric hasn't arrived before its estimated release date, you will be informed via email. If, in the unlikely event that the fabric is cancelled, you will have the option to pick alternative fabric (subject to availability) or you can request a full refund.
