Jade-Early-Sewing-Petition

Jade Earley, of Great British Sewing Bee Series 4 fame, has set up a petition on change.org requesting that skill-based lessons are put back on the curriculum and taught to children in school.

“The reason for my campaign is to bring skills based lessons back into schools. No[t] everyone is academically gifted but everybody has a gift and we all deserve a chance to shine,” says Jade on the petition page.

Jade goes on to explain how she has dyslexia and how it has impacted her life. Jade is only one example of how non-academic students are not given the opportunity to discover a hands-on skill that doesn’t require you to be good at spelling or mathematics. Maybe you or somebody you know struggled in school because there weren’t other avenues to discover.

Well now is your chance to make a change.

Jade’s petition only needs 2500 signatures. She already has over 1600 and all of your support is very much appreciated, so if you would like to see life skills taught in British schools please visit Jade’s change.org petition and sign it.

Remember to spread the word and share it on Facebook. You can also reach out to Jade Earley on Twitter.
